The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has extended heartfelt congratulations to the University for Development Studies (UDS) football team following their remarkable victory at the 2025 FISU World University Games football competition in Dalian, China.

In a congratulatory message issued in Cape Coast, UCC described the triumph of the UDS football team as a historic accomplishment that reflects the discipline, determination, and resilience of the players, as well as the growing culture of sporting excellence within Ghana’s higher education sector.

“UCC is proud to celebrate this victory with UDS, which not only brings honour to your institution but also raises high the flag of Ghana on the global sports stage,” the statement read.

The message emphasized that the win demonstrates the power of teamwork, commitment, and the pursuit of brilliance, values that inspire both students and staff across Ghanaian universities.

“As a sister institution, we at UCC share in your joy and applaud the dedication of the players, coaches, management, and supporters who made this success possible,” the statement continued, adding that the victory should serve as a catalyst for stronger collaboration and development of university sports in Ghana and beyond.

UCC concluded by once again congratulating UDS for what it described as an “outstanding feat,” affirming that the entire university community is proud of the achievement.
