Weiketuo Company Supports UDS World Champions in China

The University for Development Studies (UDS) football team, winners of the 2025 FISU World Football Tournament in Dalian, China, has expressed deep appreciation to a Ghanaian company based in China, Weiketuo, for its immense support throughout the competition.

Faced with the challenges of navigating a country where language posed a major barrier, Weiketuo stepped in to provide crucial translation services that helped the UDS delegation communicate effectively. Beyond that, the company also ensured that players and officials who wished to tour Dalian were safely transported for sightseeing — at no cost to the team.

The support did not end there. After UDS’s historic victory in the grand finale, Weiketuo further crowned its gesture of goodwill by rewarding standout defender Jonas Agyemontor with an iPhone for his commanding displays at the back, which earned him recognition as one of the best defenders of the tournament. In addition, the company presented a brand-new pair of football boots valued at over GHC 3,000 to the UDS squad.

The items were formally handed over to the University’s management by Mr. Kyollo Victor, Chief Executive Officer of Weiketuo, a general merchandise and export company operating from China to Ghana.

Receiving the donations, UDS Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elliot Alhassan, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Weiketuo on behalf of the University, noting that the gesture was timely and inspiring. Team captain Asigri Mohammed also conveyed the appreciation of the players, describing the support as a great motivation for the champions.

With such a strong show of solidarity from Ghanaian businesses abroad, UDS’s triumph in Dalian has become not just a story of football excellence, but also one of unity and shared pride in Ghana’s global representation.
